Renzo Caprilli
Professor of Gastroenterology, University of Rome La Sapienza
Renzo Caprilli is a Professor of Gastroenterology at the
University of Rome La Sapienza, where he was previously
Head of the Gastroenterology Unit and the Post-graduate
School of Gastroenterology. He is the Founder and a Past
President of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation
(ECCO). He is also a member of numerous scientific and
professional associations, including the American
Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the United European
Gastroenterology Federation (UEGF), the British Society of
Gastroenterology (BSG) and the Italian Society of Gastroenterology (SIGE). Dr Caprilli serves
on a number of international scientific committees, advisory boards and Editorial Boards. He
has published over 600 scientific papers, mainly on inflammatory bowel diseases.
