Prevalance of Diverticular Disease is 2 million people in the US, approx 1 in 136 (0.74%) of the population. The annual incidence is 300,000 new cases in the US equating to approx 1 in 906 (0.11%). Half of all Americans age 60 to 80, and almost everyone over age 80, have diverticulosis.
